I have forgotten my password. What can I do?
To retrieve your password, please click on the link "Forgot your password" on our home page. You will then be asked to supply your username or account email we will send you an email with a new password for security reasons. You may also send an e-mail to cmarques@algarvecarhire.co.cc indicating your name, account email and driver's licence .

Can I check rates without making a reservation?
You may request a quotation and check vehicle availability without making a reservation. Complete only the entry page on your Alagarvecaronline website and click on “Select a Vehicle”. If you wish to make a reservation at this time and with these details simply continue by pressing the "Confirmation". You will then have the possibility to receive a booking confirmation by e-mail.

Can I book additional extras or equipment?
Yes, you can book additional extras online. This may include additional driver / special equipment, such as baby or child seats /Spain insurance. These items can be requested at time of reservation by clicking on “Optional Extras” of the rate quote page. They involve extra cost and are subject to availability.

How is my rental rate calculated?
Your total rental rate is calculated based on the information provided at time of booking. Quoted total rate will include any extras you select during the booking process. Our counter agents will review all charges with you to ensure that your total charges meet with your approval when you pick up your car.
 
What is included in the price?
Your Algarvecaronline rental quote takes into account all mandatory charges corresponding to your reservation criteria. This quote generally includes the following items :
- Value Added Tax or any other local tax
- 24 Hour Road Assistance
- Unlimited Mileage
- Road tax and Licence fee surcharge
- Third party liability insurance - All our cars have Unlimited Public Liability coverage
(Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) and/or theft waiver (T.W.) are considered as optionals)
If your rental excludes Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) and/or theft waiver (T.W.) and your car suffers total or partial damages or is stolen, the driver is considered totally responsible for the payment of the damages.
If your rental includes Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) and if the car suffers damages, the driver is held responsible for the payment up to the minimum excess charge (on the Company Rental Agreement you can find the minimum excess charge for your car).
If the car or its parts are stolen and if your rental covers the T.W. you're only responsible for the payment up to the minimum excess charge.
If you choose the SUPER C.D.W. coverage, if available, your responsibility in terms of excess charge is null, unless it's proven that the occurrence was due to negligent driving or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Company declines accidents not reported to the police, even if you choose the SUPER C.D.W.

How will I know that my reservation is confirmed?
At the end of the reservation process you will receive a "Booking Confirmation" page with the reservation number highlighted after you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing the details with your reservation confirmation. You may also check your booking status in our backoffice You should print these and keep them for your records

Is it possible to Modify/Cancel my reservation after it is confirmed?
Yes,you may modify or cancel your reservation online after it is confirmed on our backoffice in Booking status or you may email us to admin@algarvecarhire.co.cc provided it is done up to 2 hours prior to rental time

How to collect your car hire at Faro Airport?
Directions to find our representative:
When you come out of the customs area at Faro Airport, turn left and walk around 50mt until you find at your right the Coffee Shop. Opposite to it you will see the Airport Information Desk, just next to it there is the Local Rent-a-car's Desk.Our representative will be waiting for you there at the time of your arrival.Look for the "Algarvecaronline" Sign. You will collect your car at Park nº.4, on site Faro Airport.

There are no shuttles to take.

What should I do if I want to extend my rental?
Please go to the nearest Company station and update your rental agreement. The vehicle that runs beyond the rental period mentioned on the rental agreement incurs in legal penalties which are entire responsibility of the driver

What happens if the car breaks down or if I have an accident ?
We provide clients 24-hour assistance. The office numbers to be called are printed on the rental agreement.The insurance number- 24h assistance is also on the windscreen of the rental vehicle. In the event of a breakdown or an accident, you will receive prompt assistance. You must always remember to complete an accident report form, if an accident happens, giving a full account of the circumstances in which the accident happened.Call Police (telf.112) and contact Algarvecaronline team. If you don't, you could be held liable for the cost of repairing the damage done to the rental vehicle. Please read carefully the rental terms and any instructions provided at time of pick-up. The price of main usual parts is available at airport station, so that the small damages can immediately be paid at time of return


Rules of the Road
OBSERVE LOCAL SPEED LIMITS: Speeding may lead to your driving licence being confiscated immediately, on the spot. Fines are often high and they must be paid. If you leave the country before paying a fine, notification will be sent to you. That's why it's important to carefully observe all posted speed limits. Please remember that Portugal posts speed limits in kilometres per hour, not miles... ALCOHOL RISKS Portugal has laws against driving under the influence of alcohol and their permissible blood alcohol level is often extremely low. SAFETY BELT Legislation requires both drivers and passengers to wear correctly fitted safety belts. Furthermore Portugal does not permit children under 11 years old to be in the front passenger seat of a moving vehicle. PARK ONLY WHERE IT'S PERMITTED most cities use parking meters, so be sure to check whether there is a meter - and insert payment - if there is one"

Should I return the car with fuel?
The car should be returned with the same level of fuel as you found it at the beginning of your rental. If less, a refuelling service charge is applied in addition to the cost of the missing fuel. However, if you bought the tank option at the beginning of the rental (with a 10% discount), please return the car empty as you will not receive any reimbursement. Please inquire our receptionists for more information

Is there a standard procedure that should be followed when returning the car?
Make sure that the person that accepts the car is one of our receptionists.Control the car with the receptionist for damages and check with the Company Rental Agreement which indicates if there were any damages already when you rented the car.Make sure you do not forget anything inside the car. If you return the car at the airport before your flight, then you should do it at least 2 hours before flight departure
